I just use a model 1 wobbly grip - ie just hand-held; I use the guidelines in the viewfinder to try to keep level - making sure I overlap the frames by between 30 and 50%. I know that a panoramic head would probably give me better results, but I like to travel light and it would be diffiuclt to use tripods in some locations - this probably being one of them.
