. Harpers Ferry, WV (Jefferson County)

. The original bridge (1823) was erected at the start of the earliest industrial use of the island. It provided the principal access for residents and mill workers to and from Virginius Island.

. The bridge was severely damaged in the 1870 flood. The current deck is a reconstruction of the bridge as it was in 1886. The bridge (1974) was dedicated to Hon. Jennings Randolph, the West Virginia Congressman who sponsored legislation establishing Harpers Ferry National Monument. (1)
