The trees are really thick on this road, so it was tough to get a shot that wasn't really dark. Luckily, the sun came out really bright and shined through the trees nicely. I think it turned out alright.

I think this pic turned out very well, especially given the conditions. As you said, it is usually quite shaded, and, although I've never tried taking photos there I can imagine the lighting issues you must have encountered.

I love taking that route, even though it's out of my way, when I'm heading home from the Forest. Keep the pics comin'!

Thank you, bhumphreys, for your feedback. It is really awesome to get some insight from someone who knows the area. It is easy to impress people from out of town because everyone loves to see pics of places they have never been, but I try to show off my home in a way that reminds West Virginians what a beautiful state we live in. I used to be one of the common ones who was bored with WV until I picked up photography as a hobby.

So beautiful! I don't think I fully appreciated West Virginia and Charleston until I moved to Kentucky several years ago. I love the mountains and particularly the rivers. I hope to get back before too long and will definitely have my camera.
