How can anyone LIVE in these conditions?
Greetings from sunny (38C forecast today) northern California,

Elmambo the Riverhurst Ferry takes vehicles across Diefenbaker Lake (the South Saskatchewan River was dammed to make a lake). The above Ferry can carry 16 cars or a total weight of 100 tons (90.7 tonnes). Taking the Ferry (or ice road) saves gas and about an hour and half driving time if one drove around Lake Diefenbaker instead.
All ferries in the Province of Saskatchewan are operated by the Government of Saskatchewan.
* All ferry operations are seasonal. * Ferries generally operate from mid April to mid November, however this is dependent on ice conditions. * All ferries, with the exception of Wollaston are free to use. * All ferries, except Wollaston and Riverhurst, operate from 7:00 a.m. to midnight, CST. * All ferries except Riverhurst and Wollaston are river crossings. As such, these ferries are affected by fluctuating water levels in the rivers. The maximum weights allowed or the operation of these ferries may change without notice due to fluctuating water levels.Riverhurst Ferry leaves the west shore on the half hour and leaves the east shore on the hour. The Ferry can accommodate most trucks at secondary highway weights and operates 24 hours a day. During the night, the ferry operates on demand.
Wollaston Barge makes two trips daily but pre-booking is required. Call 306-633-2107. The trip is approximately 3 hours.
* Sample rates - subject to change without notice Cars - $18.00 one way; Tandem truck - $70.00 one waySaskatchewan has 12 Ferries and one barge.
Thanks Hamzars
Paul I think there is a job opening for you to clear snow off the ice road. ;)~
