Florence, Cheers from Christchurch. I have not been along that peice of road for some 4 or 5 years during the day, so I can not confirm that this location is aok. But I'm happy to say that the internet typo maps show that it seems to be.

Christchurch is currently under assult, so to speak, by earthquakes. We had a 7.1 mag shake at about 4:35am on Sat 4th Sept. followed by several hundred aftershoks.

By 11am, Thurs 9th we had over 250 aftershoks. After that I were out of town, (Nearer to the first epicentre), and I do not know how many since than.

Not sure if people realize that today, NZ time, is the anniversy of 9/11... But it is not a good way to remember that.

We have had no deaths recorded due to the earthquake(s), but one person passed away due to heart problems.

Selbst Streicheln hilft da nicht! Mein Foto (www.panoramio.com/photo/7586084) ist vom selben Standort aus gemacht: Da sind wir wohl einer Meinung. Aber die Aufzeichnung meines GPS-Gerätes zeigt, dass ich am 18.11.2007 kurz nach 10:58:35 Uhr Ortszeit den Conway-River überquerte.
