Crater Lake is 8 by 9.6 km and 597 m deep. The lake fills a caldera that was formed around 6900 years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama. Crater lake is the deepest lake in th US. And - together with lake Tahoe in Calfornia - the lake with the most intense blue hue.

I took this shot 13 years ago with my old Nikon F-601. The setting at Crater Lake is amazing, the colors are unbelievable :)
