Shat-Al-Arab

The Shatt al-Arab, and was called the (One-eyed Tigris). This river is the result of a convergence of the Tigris and Euphrates, where rivers meet in the city of Qurnah on after 375 km south of Baghdad. And of approximately 190 Km, and was in the Arabian Gulf when Fao City, and which is the maximum point in Southern Iraq, hit the Shatt al-Arab in some areas to 2 kilometers. As for the riparian they are all planted with date-palm. It was in the past, and remains, a crossroads of commercial ships coming from the Gulf, India and others to provide dates and water and all the goods that's famous in Iraq, and the Shatt al-Arab port of Sindbad The Sailor and the starting point of exotic trips.

شط العرب وكان يسمى (دجلة العوراء).هو نهر ناتج من التقاء نهري دجلة و الفرات، حيث يلتقي النهران في مدينة القرنة على بعد 375 كم جنوب بغداد. و يبلغ طوله حوالي 190 كم، و يصب في الخليج العربي عند طرف مدينة الفاو، و التي تعتبر اقصى نقطة في جنوب العراق ويصل عرض شط العرب في بعض مناطقه الى 2 كيلو متر اما بالنسبة لضفافه فكلها مزروعة بالنخيل .وكان في ما مضى ولا يزال ملتقى للسفن التجارية القادمة من الخليج والهند وغيرها للتزود بالتمور والمياه وجميع البضائع التي يشتهر بها العراق، وكان شط العرب ميناء السندباد البحري ونقطة أنطلاق رحلاته الغريبة.
