donaldw My last visit here, one of the most wonderful places in Scotland was 17th June 1988.
On my return down on my way back from Applecross, I spotted a grouse's head peeping up out of the heather. I mentally marked the spot and after slow and very quiet search I spotted a clutch of day olds with the hen at some distance well disguised by surounding colours. I quietly retreated walking backwards. I felt I had intruded, but I also felt so privileged. Bealach na Ba is one of the most beautiful placed in my book. Your photo captures the descent very well.
Thank you for giving it to us. Aindriú
You should try it on a day in April as I did once and find the highest point in the cloud with snow still lying around the view point, blowing a gale and wet, not so appealing!

I once saw a person cycling up the pass quite near the top! Quite a feat
