J'ai passé une nuit dans le cratère, sur la première terrasse , en Août 1971. Probablement la nuit la plus marquante dans ma vie. Il faisait froid, les grognements sourds venant des profondeurs de plusieurs petits cratères (il n'avait pas explosé à cette date) On se rend compte alors de notre petitesse. Au lever du soleil,je suis redescendu avec mon guide.Je n'étais pas même homme que la veille...

j'ai monter le Nyaragongo plus de 10 fois. toujour une nouvelles aventure. le crâtére change a chaque fois en volume de lave. je me rapelle une fois que quelqu'un avais ecris "pis" sur la premiere plateforme et que le lendemain tout avais disparus tellement la lave avais monter cette nuit et quelle chance pour nous !!!!si je me souviens cela a dû etre dans les années 70-72
