This particular photo is not edited at all, beyond resizing for the web and sharpening. The lightburst on the tower is real, it's from the sun reflecting off a window or something.

I rarely alter my photos, but I do often adjust the contrast, sometimes using tricky methods, like HDR. My HDR photos are usually easy to spot by their unusual appearance. But they are real photos, just developed in a special way.

Yep, the lightburst on the tower is real. By using smaller apertures, lightbursts can be had fairly easily. Sometimes I put the sun in the frame at a small aperture and give it "rays" or "spokes". :-)
