Cabramurra is the highest township in Australia and sits on the main range at an altitude of 1,448m.
This scene shows the town under a thick blanket of mid winter snow.
I took this, and many other photos from Cabramurra during my time working at the nearby ski fields. At the time (1986), the population of Cabramurra was around 180, today little more than 80 people live and work in this unique Australian township.
Nice, i was wondering how youd get in there as they close the snowy mountains highway. Now only staff of the snowy hydro and their families can live there apparently. I dropped bye here a few months back just to see what was there during a big loop from Canberra, jindy, Khankoban, Adaminaby & back.
