As for recommended places in October, I would say if you have any extra time, check out the fall foliage in the lower Hudson Valley area like Bear Mountain-Harriman State Parks in New York and the Palisades of New Jersey. Also on the way to Philadelphia, check out the Washington's Crossing area of New Jersey & Pennsylvania. It is quite scenic for bike riding and historical sites. That only names a few:) Regards, Chris
