these animals are actually Zopkyos, which are a cross between Yaks and cattle. Yaks are high altitude animals and do not come below Namche Bazaar and Zopkyos do not go above Namche. Treks always change animals at Namche.

1996, too long ago! Am now planning / saving to take my family back there in about 5 years time. the great thing about the trip will be that not a lot will have changed in the mean time and Australian dollars tend to go a long way!
