Und das ist nicht das ende.....und was der saure regen nicht vernichtet, vernichten die viehherden, die brände oder der gierige mensch. Trotzdem ein gelungenes foto.

I really like the contrast in this photo Andreas the sky has a moody feel about it, beautiful. Greetings From South Wales, Karen.

Thank you very much Karen. It´s a pity when you see the trees die because of pollution, storms and parasites - mad world!

Best regards, Andreas

It is very nice Andreas, Y*. The colors of the forest and the sky is in great contrast. I was studying soil acidicication in my PhD, but my sample area was a totally intensificated agricultural land. Nice and in the same time sad to see that. Greetings from Hungary, Szilard

Thank you Szilard! This area is in more than 900 m in altitude high, raped by acid rain, heavy storms and bark beetles.

Cheers, Andreas

In 2004 I have been to Forbach but the weather was very foggy, I did not tried to hike. This May I am planning to visit this place again, hopefully will be better circumstances. Are there good trails to hike? Szilard

Hi Agoe! My last days before the journey to Germany was so hectic that I had forgotten to say a word for You and than there were no possibility ...

Well, I have been to Forbach last Friday and took a walk to Bad Herrenalb. I enjoyed it, but miscalculated the distance ... thought that was 15 km and it was 22 :D The only problem was the rain ... with ice ... and I left my hiking boots at home ... that was a fault. I took a lot of photos, and because of the rain and heavy clouds the landscape was wonderful.

Are the trees influenced the acid rains??? I have seen your photos, but it was a surprise. The destruction is bigger than I thought.

Best wishes, Szilard PS: I uploaded some photos and I am planning to do it with some more in the future (just have to take care of gps-tracklog).
