We have very clear skies here tonight and the stars are shining very brightly, I have been out gazing at them, they are so beautiful. A friend of mine named a star after my daughter who we sadly lost, and tonight (on my sons 19th birthday) is the only night it is visible.

thanks not a good story but a good ending sam hope you got to see the star. sam look at the two photos of the moon carefully the other taken at sunset this at sunrise so to speak look at them closely.

Show off! Joking aside, that's a wonderful moon shot! But, did you have to do a link from my measly pea-sized moon to this amazing thing?

You wait, one day I'll get a lens the size of a barbecue, and then I'll show you!

That really is lovely though, Steve. I don't know how I've missed this one before now. I must have not had an email alert and then the page must have flown by, as I would have commented on this if I had seen it.

Right, now I shall go back to my own poor old collection and see what I can add that might be bigger than the ones in WA....MMmmmmmmmm, I shall be pondering all day.....

Very best wishes to you, Steve, I hope the wind has dropped today..

Actually, after I'd done my comment on the yellow moon, I thought you would be better off deleting that to get it out of the way and doing a link back to here, quick before someone else does a comment in the prime spot for a link. I found it extremely interesting, so I'm sure others would too..

I still haven't found anything that's 'bigger than yours' yet! WA might win out yet! Did you see 'Volkan's photo of the moon which fills the entire photo up? Incredible. I thought his photo of all the people queueing up to have a look through the telescope were waiting to have a sausage sizzle from the 'barbecue'. It's enormous!

I should do a link to there for you, but I am flat out at the moment, so sorry,

Very best to you, Steve,

I changed my mind, Steve, as you might be interested in this. I don't mind if you scrap this afterwards though, as I don't want to do the same to your 20 cent size moon compared to a tennis ball sized moon as you did with your moon compared with my pea sized moon! :D Tee hee hee, I'm not moaning, you understand, just ribbing you....

Here is the moon shot, and here is the telescope shot...

cheers, Steve,

Good idea with the two shots Steve.

Well done! I can't get a clear moon shot this large... until I get a better lens (one day).
