Bill I've have just found your comment, how did you know of my camera club award? This is not contrived I happened to be there at the right time, matter fact I was concerned of what the trip back to Melbourne was going to be like lucky it blew over. After seeing your photos of the Flinders Ranges it's stirred my interest to go again in May especially with gear I now use regards Brian.

Googled your name Brian and came across Forsters. The Flinders are still one of my favourite places. I haven't explored the west side much so that's where I'll head when I make time for the next trip!! cheers Bill

Bill unfortunately I can't make it now this year have to be next, thought that April would be the best time especially for sunset shots perhaps you can advise. Brian.

Autumn is alway a good time Brian. Late September, early October is good too. (I'd try avoiding the school holidays) This about Spring, if there's been rain, all the wild flowers bloom. Either way you can't lose. There are any number of hikes to choose from. Rawnsleys Bluff, the unfortunately anmed Dick's Knob and plenty in the park proper (Wilpena Pound) including St Mary's Peak. Worth it, but it is a days hike. Great views from Pugalist Hill at either end of the Day. Same with Stokes Hill lookout. Anything with Rock in the name is worth looking at and the Moralana Drive is picturesque. Then there's Brachina Gorge, Aroona Valley and Parachilna Gorge. Forgot to mention Warren Gorge just out of Quorn, a very pretty little spot to see in early morning or late afternoon light. That list would keep you busy for a couple of weeks I'd reckon. ;o) cheers Bill
