After riding up to where the Santa Ana River crosses HWY 38 from bottom of Mountain Home Creek (Old HWY 38), My 12 year step son and I took this same trail back down to Mountain Home Creek. It was in the fall and the trail had acorns in several places along the trail. The acorns made this part of the trail have a pucker factor of 5. It's a long way down if you mess up.
