Wonderful shot Palmina. This is one of those shots that looks almost black and white until you look closer ( I like the subdued colors in shot like this). The composition and angle of the shot really add to the effect as well. Nicely done! Bruce

It looks like an enchanted wood, Palmina! Great photo! Greetings, May

Palmina Moore, on July 3, said:

Thanks May It did look lovely. It seemed enchanted because we managed to see 6 Lyrebirds (who are notoriously hard to see) within 15 minutes. All males with their magnificent tails. When we saw the first one, it was such a shock, I tried to get the camera out of the bag but too slow. We were still saying "No one will believe we saw a male Lyrebird" when the second one came out across the road. I'd put the camera down as we thought we had seen more than most people would see in a life time but blow me down if another 4 didn't come out in quick succession! Next time I'll have the camera to my eye for the full drive....and you can bet we'll not see even one!

Thanks to both Marcelo & Hank

It is a nice place Hank usually very quiet with only the bird sounds....until it's Saturday or Sunday during the Spring & Summer when it is the motorcyclist Heaven. Hundreds travel the road, renound for it's twists and turns every weekend.

I love this shot Palmina! It is very mysterious, almost spooky. Very intriguing, with the trees vanishing up into the mist... dreamlike.

Palmina Moore, on July 23, said:

Thanks Aubrey although I agree that the shot could be mono, it isn't, it's just how it came out.

Branson Thank you, it is a wonderful feeling just sitting up there with Nature and yes very dreamlike.

Hello Pali, Just passing through and hoping this finds you on the mend. Sometimes, life can be cruel with its twists and turns, complicated by unforseen setbacks. I am thinking that this is what you may be going through right now. Hopefully, you will be back feeling as good as new very soon. I wish you well.

PS Pali. I like this dreamy image.

Warm regards.---Jim

Dear Palmina,

It seems you have had a pretty cold winter this year, but to have opportunity to drive Black Spur again is something to treasure, especially with the appearance of the lyrebirds. Hope all is well with you both now and that Spring brings you plenty of joy.

Your image presents the atmosphere perfectly.

Kind regards,

Ian

Lovely Shot!!

Just think I got to see this every day for 6 months while my Bush Crew was Cutting a massive patch of Cestrum (introduced weed), down along the Watts river about 300M into the bush from where this was taken.

One of the most lovely places on Earth I think I always felt totally at peace here & you captured the mood I felt every day here..lol

Come to think of it, I was probably in there working round the time this was taken. Did you hear the Brushcutters going at it? :D
