Jim,

Beautiful capture of the contrast between the sun-drenched cliff in the foreground and the snow-covered mountains in the distance.

I really like your whole Norway series. Norway is very high on our list of places to visit. We toured Denmark and southern Sweden very briefly, but could not fit Norway into the time allotted.

It was our last trip before we left Germany and returned to the States in 1994. Can't wait to go back!

Thanks for the tour.

Cheers, Leo

AXOTA, on June 23, said:

Greetings Leo. This edifice of more than 300m high was snow free, yet other ranges had snowlines down to the shore line. This wall of rock was facing towards the west.

I can only think that sea-breezes from the gulf stream have caused this phenomena.

Thanks for your excellent feedback Leo.

Hi guys, so glad you called in.

Anne, The mountains are magnificent and the scale is lost in their colossal size. The wonderfull colouration in the ever changing light levels led me to believe that I was in a different place.

Pixelecta, quiero gracias por comentarios. Mis majores deseos para usted. Atentemente.

I completely agree with you Sean, I was amazed at the contrasts. I havent yet worked out the exact position but it should be easy to see from GE.

It is a pleasure for me to chat with you once again Arif. I am happy to share this with you.

As always my friends, The pleasure is all mine.

Thanks for stopping a while.

You lighten my day Alice D.

All this at 2300 hrs !!! yes my friend, 24 hour glorious landscapes. Awesome !!

I know that you are a hardy soul, judging by your harsh winter photos, so I guess that you would be in your element in Norway.

As always Alice, your visit is a real pleasure. Thankyou.

Hi Rob, thats another week over for you, now you can chill out, put up your feet and relax

But in the real world, there's all the washing up to do, feed the dog, cut the grass that you forgot or ignored last week and has now reached jungle proportions. The wife will have a long list of all the things that somehow only men can do. Oh, and you can bet that one of the kids wants an interest free loan (which you, as sure as hell, will never see again) Dont forget to put petrol in the car, cos the daughter that has you twisted so tightly around her little finger til it hurts, wants to 'lend' daddies car for a trip to some factory outlet store to allegedly snip a bargain which ,no doubt, you will have paid for when she informs you that her credit card is overspent. Ah, and dont forget that promise you made to provide a taxi service at some un-godly hour of the night. By the way, have you checked your insurance policy lately ?? Never mind Rob, It gets much worse before it gets any better.

From Jim, the eternal optimist.

Need I go on ???

Robert Mcewen, on June 27, said:

No you need go on any further Jim. Been there, seen it all and done it.

Samantha asked to borrow 300 notes in April which she promised I'd get back at 50 p/month. I suggested 30 p/month to make it easy. And guess what? Yep, I've seen nothing since. Not a cent. Not even an offer of a promise to give some back in the near future.

Ross had me run him up to Barnsley for a swim and sleep over at T-time. That was an hours run and a tenner ta boot.

Then Lydia had me picking her up from a disco at 11.15 tonight on the other side of Sheffield. On the trip home she wants me to give her money tomorrow to buy an outfit for a party next week. Oh, and dad, will I pay for her to go to Alton Towers with her mates. Then she dropped the bomb shell of the evening....would I pay for her to go on a 4 day school trip to New York next April at a cost of 700 notes. "Please Dad, I'll love you forever if you let me go".

Jim, do you know of that tree that money grows on and is there for harvesting at any time cos my kids all seem to think it exists?

Oh, and why stop there. Lisa, my missus wants 130 notes for her car tax, 75 for a dress for my brothers wedding in 2 weeks and her car needs a service soon.

Rapidly losing the will to live. Rob

AXOTA, on June 27, said:

Commiserations Rob, its far worse than I could conceivably have imagined.

There is no easy way out that does not involve further pain and punishment, even greater than your present parlous state.

Having screwed up two marriages and a relationship or two, I am probably not the best person to ask for advice. Best thing to do Rob is take the pain, empty your wallet, don some sackcloth and take a trip to Tibet. Or you could always plead insanity. Oh, dont forget to put the cat out !! goodbye then.

Jim

There my son, that must be a great help to you.

AXOTA, on June 27, said:

PS Rob, you could go fishing to Norway. That might help !!

Robert Mcewen, on June 28, said:

Jim, I'm so glad you realize my plight and fragile financial liquidity. You can be my mentor and listening ear on my darker days or when I'm feeling low. I tend to have them on a monthly cycle.... about 10 days before pay day. That's usually about the time they've all cleared out my account and reduced me to hunting for loose change down the side of the sofas.

The fishing trip to Norway looks and sounds a good bet; more fun than locking myself away in a Tibetan monastery. I couldn't hack the part where they remove all my pleasures in life.

Rob

PS, watch out for a picture I'm gonna upload of Lydias bedroom. You'll see what I mean about mess and grenades etc.

AXOTA, on July 1, said:

Oh dear Rob, I'm not sure that posting such a photo is a good idea. Your punishment may be much worse than the risk is worth. I once threatened to do this to Helen. She stalked me for weeks with a hockey stick.

Commiserations Rob.

She'll never know it's happened Jim. And blow me, just as it was looking at its worst, her mum has got her to tidy up or she gets know money for her Alton Towers trip tomorrow. It'll not be long before its back to its usual messy best. Leopards don't change their spots!

Have a good weekend buddy, Rob.

Actually, Jim, it has left me quite 'knackered' today. I will have to ease off a bit, as even enthusiasm doesn't make up for sleep all the while, does it? I need every day 3 times over to do all the things I want to do. I bet you're the same.

I'm looking forward to more browsing when I am recovered... in the meantime, take care, Kind regards, Sue

Greetings Sue, are you still suffering sleep deprivation ? hope you are all ok down-under.

Hello Frank Knaap, What you see also amazed me too. I can only imagine that the rays of the sun were concentrated on this rock face, or perhaps there was a local effect from the warming currents of the Gulf Stream (Mexican Gulf that is)

Greetings Simona, the nice thing about this photo is that I am always reminded of your smiling face, and your beautiful thoughts.

Warm regards to you all.---Jim

Sue Allen, on October 15, said:

Hi Jim, thanks for the little message! I'm getting less sleep than ever, but feeling quite fine on it at present. I've been busy snapping away in Gympie, the streets, and the Jacaranda flowers...they've been spectacular this year..

Must fly, I'm so behind in my replies, I need a secretary! All the best, sue x
