Mezizim Beach (originally Sheraton Beach) is one of the most famous beaches in Israel. It is the last beach in the Tel Aviv center beach strip, and it is located just under the former old Sheraton Hotel. The beach had a few legends around it, and was the home beach of some op Israel's most famous. Numerous films were filmed on this beach, and eventually the beach got its name after one of these films which took place in the area around it and on the beach itself. After the movie "mezizim" became Israeli cult, people started to use the name Mezizim as the name of the beach. Formerly it was called : • The Sheraton beach – after the Sheraton Hotel which was just above it. • Old Sheraton Hotel – after Sheraton Hotel was relocated to a newer facility 1 Km to the south • Yichye Beach – After the owner of the famous restaurant / canteen / beach shack that was operating on the beach
