This is not a pineapple at all. In fact, it's a totally inedible seed of a seashore loving plant. Please label it as 'An interesting, but inedible seed of a sea shore loving Okinawan plant.' Or find out what it is and retitle your photo to whatever the plant's name is. Help everyone who stumbles over your photo to learn what this plant is.

The is a Pandanus fruit. It is endemic to Okinawa, the Ryukyus Islands and Taiwan. While related to the pineapple it is not generally eaten as it is very sour and tough.
