Thanks vratsagirl, yes it was very sweet. I had stayed too long on the mountain summit and so began the 18km return walk near sunset... and had to hike in the dark... but seeing this light on the mountains was well worh the difficulty :) Glad you enjoyed the view. Best wishes, CB

Hello, Chris. What a wonder!. The photo has incredible colors and the landscape breathes majesty. And it transmits peace and harmony. As we say in Spain: Olé! Greetings. Ramon.

A superb shot, Chris, I could not help but giving it a star and a "best of", too. It´s really not only the light, but also the composition, which creates an excellent depth of field. I´d really love to take a walk there...

Kind regards, Peter

Thanks very much for the compliment and Y* Peter :) Several of your wonderful trees are in my favorites gallery. If you should ever get the chance to walk in this place you could see the sequoia trees before hiking through this forest and up past the tree in the picture to Alta Peak (~3,400m) where you can see foxtail pines like this.

I had stayed late with some friends on a high peak and we had about 12km still to hike... It was a beautiful evening.

Thanks Tim, very pleased to read your comment here and note the Y*. This photo was taken on slide film in the days I used to get out a bit farther on foot than I do now - fond memories.
