The circumstances behind the demolition of this cottage are to say the least scandalous. I know of only a handful of similar thatches left in and around Buckley...lets hope that the authorities see fit to offer the proper degree of protection to the historic places that remain.

I think that it is not only the thatched cottages we should be concerned about. Many of the so called 'Potter's Cottages' are slowly being eased out of the area. And who is to say how many of them started out life as thatch?
