Creeping phlox, or royal carpet, as some call it. Another of the many imported exotic (non-native) plants that thrive in the Mediterranean climate of the central coast. This stuff crowds out some native species found only on the shoreline, but its not nearly as much of a problem as the ice plant is. Both pretty, both a problem to some degree.
