Ah! I'm the first to comment on your poppy. The photo shows (perfectly) that there can be deep beauty even where there is not perfection.

Greetings, Marilyn

Oh! that was quick Marilyn, I've only just put this photo on a short while ago. The poppy was having a hard time with the strong wind and rain we have had in the last few days so I thought I had better capture it before it was too late. Cheers, Anita

Hi Edita, nice to hear from you. Thank you very much for the yellow star :) This is my favourite poppy from my garden, the flower is as large as my hand. Cheers, Anita

Hey Anita, there it is in all its glory.

Despite the wind and rain, it's still a beautiful flower and an equally beautiful picture.

Hello Paul, sorry I didn't know you had visited my red poppy, I've just left a message on your California poppy photo asking you to take a look 8) Do you think it's the same as the Flanders poppy? sorry for troubling you. Regards, Anita

I never did answer your question about this flower. It's a Corn Poppy (Papaver rhoeas) and yes, it's the poppy of Flanders Field fame.

As promised, I've posted a picture of some of these growing in "My neighborhood" along with some California Poppies. HERE'S the link for you.

Greetings from smoky northern California,

Paul
