Very nice HDR image John. Composition, detail, dynamic range and intense colour all excellent. It's a keeper. :)

Many thanks as always Tom. I appreciate your kind remarks.
Are there similar structure around Virginia? Maybe not quite as old.
Best regards

John - We don't have a lot of these that would compare age wise but the ones that do exist near me are in West Virginia. You might find this interesting... http://www.rowlesburg.org/trayrun.html

A nice piece of histroy there Tom. Incredibly these fine structures are only one year apart!! The Tray Run Viaduct being built in 1852 and Craigmore in 1851. My uncles [website]http://irishantiquities.bravehost.com/armagh/craigmoreviaduct.html has more info on Craigmore.

John

That is amazing. One year and a world apart. Cheers for sharing the shot and the history. Looks like we have both learned something new this day. :)
All the best, Tom

Oh yeah... Your shot is head and shoulders above anything on that site. You should see if they'd like a "professional" image. :)

Hi John , Nice HDR!
This would make a great through the seasons project as it's literally outside your front door. It would be amazing to see this bridge change mood in different light and seasons, not forgetting getting a classic steam train over it, I think there's one going over in august to belfast! theres a lot of nice angles to take this bridge from. Your lucky its on your doorstep & you would always be home in time for Dinner!

Thanks for that H, what a great idea. It could give me a reason to brave the poorer elemants instead of waiting for the fair day! I will definitely consider that one.
Warm regards
