this is not Marmolada but Catinaccio (Rosengarten)

Thanks for your visit and comment, fzerb! The photo I did during a long hike across the Catinaccio, past the Torri di Vajolet at the left in this photo. The Marmolada you can see at right, far away in the background. It is absolutely certain that it is the Marmolada! I and am often there and know the area very well.

You're absolutely right Manfred. Sorry I understood you put Gatlhutte on the Marmolada while you were describing what was in the picture which is Marmolada indeed.

Thanks for your comment, gold star and best of, Bruce! One can only go hiking in this area. There is only one aerial ropeway to supply a shelter. I have photographed it while crossing this mountain** when going down on the other side - near the bright spot among the top.
