Cute pic. Please note, there are no cities on Ellan Vanen.Peel is a Port or Town. ps look at my pic of the Castle, took it as a candid with a cheap camera and could not believe the colours when it came out, blimey it was cold and windy that day though!

Simon, I've changed the title to "Peel Harbour and Town from Peel Castle". There was a cold wind blowing on the day I was at Peel in May 2003. Although it was Sunny I used the camera flash to light the wall nearest the camera.

Peel is technically a city. It's the only cathedral city on the island.

Sorry 'Voteforpedro' but Peel isn't a City, check out the town's own website Peel Online which is the website for the Peel Town Commissioners

Peel (Manx: Purt ny hInshey – Port of the Island) is often called the only 'city' in the Isle of Man because it is the home of the Island's cathedral.

Peel was never capital of the Island, but Peel Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Sodor and Man. It is the Island's main fishing port.

Peel is often referred to as the rose red city or sunset city due to the red sandstone used to build the castle and other important buildings.
