These are not the oldest - the oldest olive tree in the world is situated in Pano Vouves, Chania, West Crete. The evidence and findings was confirmed by UNESCO and this information is also listed on wikpedia.com

Are these the trees that are mentioned by Carol Drinkwater in her books? She claims to have discovered the oldest olive trees in the world in Lebanon. I would also like to know if these are anything to do with the Edde family. I used to know a Lebanese woman who said her family owned olive trees and her family name was Edde and they came from Byblos.

They are the oldest trees, and one of them has a trunc perimeter of 28 meters!! that is TRUNC peremeter!!
