I like this one very much. Bicyles and rust! what a combination!

I'm glad you like it, Palmina. I did the bicycle tag but not the rust tag! Thanks for the reminder.

A young fellow walked by as I was getting ready to take the shot. He did a double-take after he spotted me, paused, and said sort of tentatively, "Nice bike!" I'm sure he wondered what this old woman was doing!

Thank you, Mira, for your kind words. Sharing photos on Panoramio is certainly teaching to look at the world more actively than I ever did before.

Greetings, Marilyn

Hi Marilyn!

This is another pearl of a shot from you. You have indeed a good eye for details

At this picture you wrote:

If anyone had seen me taking the picture, they might have wondered why I was doing it.

Maybe they wonder at first, but DONT WORRY ! I am sure the young man or other bypassers rather envy you for having an "old woman's" eye for these details and wish they themselves had this eye.

Best summer greetings, Mogens.

Many thanks, Mogens and Rapid. Yes, there certainly are tubes! And I'm gradually getting more confident about taking pictures of unlikely subjects!

Best wishes, Marilyn

Fantastic shot, Dear Marilyn! The old pipes are just as grand as the wonderful bike. Excellent subject matter.

Thank you, Jurgis and Mary Alice. The contrast between this odd array of rusty, straight pipes and 90 degree angles (or almost 90 degree!!) with the bold circles of the wheels really appealed to me as we walked past. I'm glad you like it.

Cheers, Marilyn

That's really quirky, I like that! Well done! Kind regards, Sue

Marilyn Whiteley on August 7, 2008

I didn't used to have the nerve to show anybody my quirky pictures, but I've become bolder! I'm glad you like it. Greetings, Marilyn

Sue Allen on August 8, 2008

I'm so glad you became bold. Isn't it fun when you start looking at the world in a new,'quirky'way? I did a bit of an odd photo today, not sure whether you'd class it under quirky or just rusty though. It's just here, if you'd like to have a peek..(at least if I've done the blooming link right!) Kind regards, Sue

Yes, Sue, life is so much richer when you begin noticing such things! Best wishes, Marilyn Sue (!)
