Manchmal über 100m Rolltreppen führen hinab zur U-Bahn!

The subway in Saint-Petersburg is very deep due the big depth of the Neva river... Thank you for the shot of my home-station.

I know well, Dimitry, I had the experience myself. I am pleased to have photographed your subway station.

Can you tell me if the position is correct?

Greetings from Hamburg, Klaus

Hope that you like our subway... The position is quite good Klaus - 1 or 2 metters doesn't matter.

Yes in deed I liked it, Dimitry. It was funny to see the people reading their newspaper or a book on the way down... there was time enough. Thanks for your answer.

Greetings, Klaus

Yes it's our tradition - to read in transport. If someone hasn't got a book, he could get free the daily morning newspaper "Metro" on the entrance to subway. Lots of people (even I) read books on their way to work to not waste the time (sometimes the time of the way is more than hour). In Soviet times they called Russians: "The most reading nation".
