In the 1800’s Port Townsend, the city of dreams, was a thriving seaport and on it’s way to becoming the largest harbor on the west coast. When the railroad went to Seattle instead of Port Townsend the town was abondoned by many of the speculators and hard times fell upon those that stayed. In the 1920’s the contruction of this paper mill brought prosperity and new dreams to the city. The mill is still a primary provider of jobs for this community.
