This tower was the original one used for FM radio transmission from the mountaintop. It went unused for awhile, but is now back in service since a fire destoyed the transmitter building several years ago. The round 'drum' is a microwave TV relay antenna used by NHPTV, and the three objects at the top are 'radomes' that cover a 3-bay FM radio antenna used by WHOM-FM (auxiliary back-up). The diagonal panels are just ice shields. The tall cylindrical thing in the background was the base for the old WMTW-TV antenna, which was removed when Channel 8 relocated to Poland Springs ME. in 2002.
