All right! Well done. The shadow gives a sense of proportion, and its elongated form adds to the feelings of wonderment.

Thanks Nicolas! I was happy to catch these colors just as the sun was getting low. It was an easy enough scramble to get up holding my camera, but not quite so much getting back down.

Great self portrait in a terrific scenery I'm really impressed of. Have been there several times because we completely miss such formations in Switzerland.
BTW: It's not the place here. But just telling you, I installed your PhotoTrack. Great job! Just missing one little thing you may allow for PhotoTrack Release 2.0: a counter for all the pictures so I see how many pictures are regarded in the file. :)

Thanks Polytropos. We miss such formations in the rest of this country as well. It's not fair that they are all collected here in Utah, but it does make it more convenient that way. :)

It would be a fantastic ( = fantasy-like) photo anyway, and the self-portrait gives it something extra!

Thanks Marilyn! There was no good way to take the photo without having part of my shadow in it anyway, so I just figured this would be okay. Ryan

Brilliant colours in the rocks and fantastic lighting. Same kind of idea with the shadow as Mine at the beach.

Thanks Leila. The only difference is I was being blasted with sand and gnats instead of spray from a stormy sea. :)

Great art, Ryan! A feeling like in a dream in another world! Thank you for all these series of excellent photos of your trip to this part of your beautiful country. Y* and best of!
But, seriously, should I worry about you, Ryan? ;)) Driving from the Devil's Garden across the Primitive Loop onto the Dark Angel's trail - they all don't sound very comforting. ;) Maybe, people, who found out those names got some hallucinations in this heat, light and sand, whistling of the winds and strange formations.
Greetings, May

Artful Ryan!. I might have cropped it to leave out the sky to the right, keeping it simpler and only rock and shadows, but it works very well now. This place must be a photographers heaven!? (Apart from the gnats, that is)

Thank you May! I'm happy you are enjoying the photos from my vacation so far...I have thousands more, if only I get a chance to finish and upload them. I see you looked closer at the map, but the names you mention are trails, no driving involved. :)
Thanks Snemann! It sure is, but also a photographer's nightmare when the wind starts to blow sand and dust into your camera, and the heat makes the textured paint on the grip start to peel off (I didn't even know it was painted until that happened). I included the sky because I didn't think it had enough depth without it. But really, I could go either way on that.
Greetings, Ryan (who has been very busy starting a new job).

Ryan, you know, I always look at the map, when I comment your photos. :) I didn't think you could walk there. So trail means only on foot or bike? I guess you couldn't go around by bike with all this wind and sands, you are brave to hike in the desert. I am glad you escaped those places with those sombre names. ;)
Good luck for your new job and a lot of pleasure!!! My best wishes, May

Maybe so, Kari, but not doing a very good job. :)
Thank you, May! It's been a month and a half, and things are getting settled down a little.
