This picture shows the north side of Mt. Adams, and appears to have been taken from the Cowlitz River valley near Randle. Laurel is on the south side of Mt. Adams.

You are right Jim and Kathy -- it was shot from around Randle on Hwy 12. One of the few times I think that logging adds a nice sculptured effect to the Washington hills. I also like the gravel road dust cloud on the left of this picture.

Wow! What a beautiful photo!My sister and I are planning a backpacking trip out west but we weren't sure where to go. But this photo shows the beauty of Washington State; I'll be sure to keep Mt.Adams in mind when planning our trip.

how much time that would take to hike at the foot of the Mt.Adamns, Bruce?

That would be a long hike Michael, 2 or 3 days, but you can drive a lot closer to the mountain top and hike to the top in a day.
