These are the ruins of a medieval castle, Jan. A first castle had been built there by the Staufian Emperors in 12th century. After its destruction a bigger one was built in 14th century by the local landlords from Oettingen-Wallerstein. This castle was finally destroyed in 17th century by Swedish troops during the war from 1618-1648. This is actually all that I know, if you want more information it´ll take a little more time.
