The Sky-Scrapers look so small and insignificant standing above this man-made hole!
In 1866 the first diamond was found here and started South Africa's Diamond Rush. This hole was dug by hand, is 240 metres deep and yielded 3 tons of diamonds. It was closed in 1914.
