I sometimes buy these when I find them here just for the smell. A few years ago in a big new Korean market I followed a smell that was a flashback to markets in Brasil to find a bin of "red guava" and bought some. I could not eat them all because I wanted the smell to last. Gave us much saudades.

I buy two or three often in the winter to remind me of warm as they scent the kitchen. The white ones sold here have little smell. The red ones do and are the one tropical fruit sold here that reminds me so much of a place like this or this.
