Hi Guy, It is where all of the convicts were sent when Australia was first discovered (I think) not great on history, but will look it up. They were shipped out here I presume from England. More education for me needed. Dianne

Guy, this is just a small piece I copied in relation to the photo of Port Arthur Penal Settlement. "Created with convict labour, the impressive architecture, delightful gardens and chilling prison facilities survive today for you to explore." I was close in my history.

This had to be better than Dartmoor Jail for the 'felons' Dianne, if only for the climate and scenery. Ever been to Alcatraz? --- ;>)
