An early-July afternoon near Mars Hill, NC, looking past a small dairy farm towards the Blue Ridge. Mt. Mitchell is hidden in the trees to the left of the Craggies seen on the right. A close-up view will show some damage to the new growth of the deciduous trees, caused by this spring's emergence of clouds of the 17-year locusts.
