This is a cable-stayed footbridge across La Shores Drive. The location is the Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Institute of Geophysics & Planetary Physics, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego. At the time the bridge and associated Revelle Laboratory was built, this was the first cable-stayed bridge west of the Mississippi. The designer was the current Dean of the Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD.
Jorcutt, thank you for all the info about this foot bridge. My son is studying Molecular Biology at UCSD and I visit him once awhile. I love the La Jolla Area and you can see I have a few La Jolla snaps under my San Diego Tag. Thanks for the visit to my gallery. Best regards, David
