That´s an impressive shot Herb!! Very nice reflections and the colour of the ice is amazing.
Herb turn it 90 degrees to the right and you almost get a face at the left of the glacier
a worthy shot keep it.
Thanks, Herb;-) But why remove it? The shot is amazing. The person helps give a sense of proportion and of the real dimensions. I'm sure it was breathtaking to be there! Kasia
Taken whilst on a Norwegian Fjord cruise. this is the famous Briksdal Glacier. (It also ties in with another 3 pictures here in my gallery.) Enjoy. Herb
To my new viewers of this picture: I originally had a cropped version of this on here (which concentrated on the middle section, missing all people) Steve and Kasia had added comments there too, so I’ll take the liberty of copying them here for continuity, hope you don’t mind: steve111, 3 days ago, said: map it so i can see but i am seriously thinking of taking you out of my fav as you are going to send me broke with photos like this. steve He He Herb Riddle, 3 days ago, said: Steve- now you are frightening me by your threat of taking me out of your favs. I'll map it now! So glad you like these different pictures from me! Herb KasiaD, 3 days ago, said: Wow, this is some photo! Surely an amazing place to see in person. Approximately how high is the glacier that we can see here - to help us get a little perspective? Kasia steve111, 3 days ago, said: would never happen Herb you are stuck there. steve
Yes, it was quite amazing being here. I didn't intend to put this here as is because there are so many others just like this mapped on Google Earth. I thought my cropped version was a bit different and just put this one here for sake of scale with the intention to remove it as soon as possible.. However, your comments on this seems to indicate that this is a better? picture to brows so I'll keep this here. I don't want too many of the same place in my gallery so will remove the other. Herb
This is very good Herb, very nice picture of the "Briksdalsbreen".
Oh Boy! This is stunning Herb. The colours are simply beatiful, as well as the reflection, [it goes without saying!]. To get a reply from Sigmund with such a great comment is very good. He is also on my list of favourites, as I love his Norwegian photos, and wild flowers. But I doubt he would give my gallery a look. I'm honoured that you have.
It's fantastic! That azure reflected lights in ice cracks are unbelievably bright!
Sigmund, Amelia and Soffja I am touched by your nice comments about this picture. I do not look at it too often now-a-days but it used to be my computer desktop wallpaper. I am once again reminded with these comments what a stunning place this was. (I suppose it has all changed here over the last three years or so.) Christmas Greetings. Herb
A very good shot! The colors are great!!!! I LIKE!! In 2003, i have been on the same place!
It's very beautiful there!
Kind regards, Odeveld
Oh Odeveld, it's been a while since anybody commented on this one, so that makes your visit here even more special to me. Yes, a very special place that will have changed no doubt, by now. When I see this again, I long to be there again.
Thanks for the Like. Best regards, Herb
