Stunning shot Sean. As are all your photos in this new series.
Did you cross the stepping stones ?
Warm wishes.
Jim

Many thanks Jim: yes I did cross over to take the shots. There are four of these stepping stones across the river in the park area. Normally at this time of the year there is little water but we are having one awful summer (as you are too) and a few shots are possible.
This river carries a great run of salmon in the autumn and I think it still has the Irish record Sea Trout which is remarkable as it is only a few kilometres long.
Very best regards,
Séan.

I don't see a salmon pass on the weir Sean. If that is the case, the sight of these powerful fish leaping over must be awsome, particularly during a spate. Jim

Apologies again Jim!! PC problems aplenty I'm afraid: looks like I'm going to have to invest in some new equipment :-)
You are quite right Jim, no fish-passes on this stretch of the river and to get here they will have come through two gorges at the Hermitage!! I have seen fish over 20lb above this point and the river's rod caught record is 16.5lb.
I hope you are having a great week,
Best Regards,
Séan.
