I agree, it's a gorgeous place! On looking at the direction the sun is hitting things, I wonder if you have a polarizer? Your blues would have been bluer, and would have contrasted more with the clouds, considering you shot the scene at 90 degrees from the sun. I don't know if the polarizer would have made the trees take on a bluish cast though... maybe. Keep shooting!

Thanks J.

Ya I don't have any polarizers or even hoods for the lenses yet. The XTI is my first real camera, figured I would get well acquainted with it before I buy all my extra equipment :)

I copied the larger image and fiddled with it a bit in CS3, but I know how I'd feel if another person posted an edited version of my images...I could share it back with you, if you don't mind....somehow...

You can send it to me in an email :) That would be cool, maybe with a small writing on what you did so maybe I can use CS3 to recreate your mods :) Would be quite the learning for me.

I hope I get competent enough to take beautiful photos like yours. I've only just started out so if you could give some advice on the ones I've done so far it would be appreciated.

Thanks John! Actually I haven't been at this too long either. And for me, I tend to learn by experiance so I just go out and shoot a ton of photos and chage things up and see how everything turned out. I still don't even own a tripod (borrowed one for the weekend I took this shot).
