Atlantic, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, suffered near total devastation on May 31, 1985 when an F4 tornado tore through the area. The Amish, a significant part of the population of Atlantic at that time, stayed in the town following the disaster and remain in the area to this day. Pictured here is one of the town's schoolhouses. The well water pump is visible in the right foreground, and one of the school's two outhouses is seen in the left background.
