This meercat colony in the Nwetwe Pan area of the Kalihari desert is basking whilst on lookout for predators, as they warm themselves in the morning sun preparatory to going out on their morning hunt. The colony members have just emerged from their burrow complex on a low lying halite sandy ridge.
