Thank you blai and Sylvie, and especially for the Yellow Star, blai.
This is no longer an active farm. Except during the summer, the owners live hundreds of miles away; a nearby farmer takes the hay crop from the land. Nevertheless this scene expresses for me the essence of dairy farming in Wisconsin and more widely in the Midwestern states and in parts of Canada, too. Cheers, Marilyn

Marilyn, this is wonderful! Great colors, and a nice little hay bale in the background.

Ryan, I'm glad you like it. It seems to me the quintessential "barn and silos in dairyland" view. The irony is that this farm is no longer in operation, but is well cared for by the son of a family who once farmed here. I suppose that helps preserve its "quintessential" nature: a working farm would probably be more cluttered!! (The son and his wife spend summers here.) Cheers, Marilyn

Nicely composed capture Marilyn. It is, very much, "quintessential". Thanks for sharing.

Sorry I missed replying, Tom. I'm glad you like it. I grew up in an town Illinois town that calls itself "the milk center of the world"--just five miles south of the Wisconsin border. So this kind of view makes me feel very much at home. Best wishes, Marilyn
