I visited Oban about the time this photo was shot. We stayed with Mrs. McTavish, who ran a B&B below where this photo was taken. I believe it was on Gallanach Road. She was a wonderful landlady. Upon learning that it was my mother's birthday, she organized a tea party in her honour, and thoughtfully (or diplomatically) referred me to a fisherman's pub near the harbour. She served us our first taste of haggis at next morning's breakfast, but without the customary dram.
