This retaining wall is all that remains intact today. (Hitler's Berghof)
You have great photos of the Obersalzberg. You must have an interest, as I do, in WW II history. I have made many excursions to this area and am one of those lucky enough to have seen the Berghof garage and the Platterhof (Hotel General Walker) before they were torn down. I've stayed at the Turken 3 times over the years and have had great conversations with Frau Ingrid. Are you familiar with Geoff Walden's web site, thirdreichruins.com? It will keep you occupied for hours examining "then and now" photos. He has extensive coverage of the Obersalzberg area and the Berghof. -GP
I say thank you for your comment. You are really lucky that you have seen the Platterhof and garage of Berghof. Unfortunately, there is not opportunity to see it any more. I am interested in Germany's history especially Obersalzberg. The landscape is breathtaking. I would like to spend a couple of days in all years there. I hope it will come true.(I know Geoff Walden's website and it is my favorite. I have an another favorite Harry Von Gebhardt. His website is my other favorite. I would like to offer you these:
