Interesting capture of what's below as well as what's above, with reflections superimposed! Greetings, Marilyn

Thanks Marilyn. This is a strange lake in that it rest right on a ridge top with three small forested knolls around it. It is also quite warm for a lake at this elevation. That is probably because there are no streams running into it and its dark color allows it to absorb more heat. Best regards, Larry

Hey Larry, I really like this picture and this series. It really captures the summertime feeling. This picture reminds me of swimming at Lake Sylvia in Montesano as a child. The first house I lived in was on Academy Street in Monte and we spent many a summer afternoons there. I also agree with Marilyn's comments above on the technical qualities of the photograph. Great shot!

Hi Jim,
I'm glad you have enjoyed this series. I am spending quite a bit of time in the area this year as it has become so expensive to travel far. I always enjoy the Quinault Valley and I trying to visit sites along the North Fork Quinault I have not been to in some time. Many areas in the Olympic National Park are still difficult to reach. Check out Trail Conditions and you can see some of the current updates.
Larry
